I was ten years old when Gary Numan’s “Cars” came out, and back then, I believed every word of it.
Now here I am at fifty. I spend 700 minutes a week in my car, driving the highways of northern New Jersey. Hard to believe how wrong he was.
“It’s the only way to live.” My ass it is.
