The direct-to-DVD, animated “Red Nails” movie should be good. The one that was news to me was the Bran Mak Morn movie, which has the potential to be the best but is also the hardest to get right. So, no, apart from “Red Nails” you shouldn’t get your hopes up.
Come on, the first Conan film is a classic of fantasy film making. When (was it?) James Cameron was still involved he wanted to make it more obviously fantasy, with more magic and weird creatures, but I think the gritty, more sword-and-sandle feel, combined with that excellent score, make a pretty good film.
One of those is a video game. So, only 4 movies with a high probablilty of suckage. But, as with LOTR, it depends on who writes/directs. It _could_ be decent.

I thought The Whole Wide World was pretty good. . . .

The second one was shit, though!
Oops, it was Oliver Stone, not Cameron. Of course it was, stupid me!
