Missing Dog

There’s a breed of dog I’m trying to find the name of; they’re white and relatively short-haired, slim and medium build, with large pointed ears whose insides are reddish-pink and translucent; below is my attempt to draw one, though I draw even worse with a mouse than with a pen – I’ve made the head look like less like a dog than like a duck with rabbit ears, which is not exactly what I was going for.

The reason I ask is that in Welsh legend the Lord of the Dead hunts with a pack of dogs with “hair of shining white, and ears red,” and I’ve always wondered whether this might be the intended breed – but without knowing its history (i.e. whether this breed existed in early medieval Britain) I can’t tell whether that’s possible. So anyway, if you recognise the breed, please let me know. Thanks!

Thanks, but nope — the breed I have in mind doesn’t have that distinctive shepherd shape, it has shorter hair and is a bit sleeker, and the internal redness of the ears is much more prominent.

Could it be an albino or white haired strain of a fox hound?
