16 Responses to Broken Window Fallacies?

Ashame Bastiat never considered the efficacy of breaking windows, not for their gain to local businessmen, but for overthrowing the pervasive capitalist order. 🙂

    Yeah, what he said.

Most Macy’s employees are probably assholes anyways so screw them.

Oh, and I’m still waiting for someone to actually hoist the Black Flag. Then perhaps (assuming cut-throat spray patterns aren’t too distracting) maybe talk of how nasty violence is will be appropriate. Till then, it’s a subject of silly-speech for Teh Blogs.

Applied non-violence in the practical black-and-white world:

Boy suspended for using broken pencil sharpener

HILTON HEAD ISLAND — A 10-year-old boy here has been suspended from school for having something most students carry in their supply boxes: a pencil sharpener.

The problem was his sharpener had broken, but he decided to use it anyway.

A teacher at Hilton Head Island International Baccalaureate Elementary School noticed the boy had what appeared to be a small razor blade during class on Tuesday, according to a Beaufort County sheriff’s report.

It was obvious that the blade was the metal insert commonly found in a child’s small, plastic pencil sharpener, the deputy noted.

Your chances for an executive position with Macy’s have diminished since that comment thread appeared.

I dunno… the state employs me even though I advocate smashing the state. Perhaps Macy’s would be equally imprudent.

I use state roads to travel but the state usually leaves me alone. That makes perfect sense doesn’t it?

Btw, is Anon73’s statement original or has that been said (1,000 times) before? It’s meme-worthy.

  9. David Gordon September 16, 2008 at 8:49 pm #

Excellent point, but quite consistent with mine. I don’t claim that your window of opportunity at Macy’s has closed.

David Gordon, stop kissing Long’s ass.

Anonymous For Ron Paul, stop spamming Long’s comment thread.

Actually there’s a whole sequence of @narchist-themed books you could make out of this:

    Inhuman Corporate Action
    Man, Economy, and Macys
For a New Liberty to Smash Windows
    Myth of Neutral Black-Bloc’ers
    Ethics of Property Destruction
Defending Those Who Can’t Defend Their Windows
Tractatus: Logico-Infractus Fenestra (The Logic of Broken Windows)

Atlas Shrugged 2: Shrug Harder is one that’s already been offered. Bit too lefty anti-market though.

Black Bloke, the pool is closed.
No wate, what you really meant was that my paste annoyed you, yet you lacked the honesty to actually say that. OK, I will self-censor from this point for…

  15. Anonymous For Ron Paul September 21, 2008 at 2:32 am #

But before I censore myself I have to paste this:

Why can’t teh Anarchits do this? The dirty hippies wasting gas money are why can’t have nice things. With 21st Century John Galt CPU Speech we could get the message across in less than 2 pages of text.

    “Moralfags Care”

    “Oh noes you di’int”

    “See, understand now?”

I lied about the censor thing.
