The Libertarian Nation Foundation website at libertariannation.org has been having the following problem:
1. For some people, it worked if you didn’t put www in front of the address but not if you did.
2. For others, it didn’t work at all, with or without www.
3. For still others, it worked fine, again with or without www.
I guess (3) wasn’t really a problem, except insofar as it prevented those who, like me, were in group (3) from realising that there was a problem.
In any case, mighty webmaster Wayne Dawson thinks he’s fixed it. But he was in group (1) while I was in group (3), so it’s hard for us to tell whether problem (2) was fixed. Therefore: if you were previously in group (2), would you do me the favour of checking out the link, both with and without the www, and letting me know whether it works? Muchas gracias!
Both work fine for me.
Both are working fine for me now. Thanks!
I encountered no difficulties with either.
both work for me now but weren’t before. thanks!
one problem is that the following page shows up in chinese and no effort at choosing character encording options in my browser seems to fix it. anyone else with that problem?

What, you can’t read Chinese? How insular! Wo zhen de dui ni shi wang le!
I’ll ask Wayne….
It’s not Chinese. It’s plain English. Firefox seems to think it’s Traditional Chinese because of all the junk in the file. If you use View->Page Source, you’ll be able to read the English and see the extra stuff.
I’m a web designer/programmer.
RE: the chinese
The page is being served with an encoding of UTF-16LE which is a little exotic for an english webpage. Also there is no language specified in the header or in a meta tag. When you fail to specify a language the browser tries to guess. In this case it guessed wrong.
Thanks, Joe & Matt. Wayne D. says it’s a corruption in the file itself and belongs to Roy Halliday’s portion of the site, so it’s in Roy’s court now.
