    Roman commander would kill off one tenth of a group of soldiers to make an example out of insubordinate or undisciplined behavior.

    Ugh, oh yeah: ‘nice’ comes from the Latin nescius (< nescīre), which means "ignorant, silly."

    It can also be foolish to just have a somewhat classical education.
