A Doctor Who theatrical movie is in the works. Although the article doesn’t say this definitely, the impression I get from the bit about “starting from scratch” is that – like the old Peter Cushing movies – it won’t be in continuity with the existing series.
As of this writing, no comments have surfaced on Steven Moffat’s twitter feed.
