Silent Runs the Doc, Part 2

Okay, this isn’t exactly a Doctor Who spoiler, since technically it’s about last season. But if, after watching episodes 1 and 2 of this season, you go back to last season and watch for evidence of, um, potential Silence-related phenomena, it turns out to be possible to compile quite a list, and those scenes now make much creepier viewing. I’m not convinced by every item on the list, but I am by most of them – and listen in particular to the sound you hear right after the one for “The Beast Below.”

And here’s some debate about the list.

I had a hard time making out what they were saying most of the time. Between that and their power to induce amnesia on characters that I feel an affinity with, I count Silence as the first creepy and annoying villain I can think of. Great concept though!

Here are some (though not all) of the clips that have been discussed. Left out are a) a couple more clips where Amy seems to be freaking out in the TARDIS; b) the effect focusing in on the keyhole at the end of “Vampires”; and c) the figure that scoots through Young Amy’s living room while she’s sitting outside (though I’d always assumed that was Prisoner Zero).
