Mystery of the Batwoman By Roderick on April 8, 2009 8 I havent been able to discover who drew this poster (which I suspect looks better than, and bears little relation to, anything in the movie), but I sure have a hypothesis. Science Fiction
Inquiring minds want to know, Roderick.
Oh, my hypothesis was that it was Frazetta (who did in fact do a lot of movie poster art, though I’ve never seen this listed among such).
You do a bit of sketching your self yes?
The finest class of amateurish doodlings, yes.
Having seen *a lot* of Frazetta’s work, I’d say that his — the woman’s thighs are the giveaway. Not one of his better works, probably rushed.
I believe I know the film “Wild World of Batwoman” all too well from Mystery Science Theatre 3000. This movie is up there in the honored ranks of such, um, amazing cinematic creations as “Manos Hands of Fate” and “Monster A Go Go”.
So does the poster look anything like the movie?
The batwoman character really does kind of look like the poster. The thing jumping at her does not appear in the movie as I recall. And there is a definite lack of go-go dancing in the poster, which definitely misrepresents the WWoB experience.
