Not Quite Enough Pop Culture

Rachel Madoff is all excited that David Eick, executive producer of Battlestar: Galactica, is going to be addressing the UN – along with (here her voice falls &#150 obviously she doesn’t know who he is) Ron Moore, and (her interest perks up again) some of the actors.

Rachel, don’t you have assistants or something to help you with this stuff?

Oops. Freudian slip there or something.

Ha, I came here to comment on the Freudian slip, since Roderick is not known to be a name-caller.

Oh yeah, you … um … Baddy-bad McEvil type person?

This is OT, but I get the impression that right-libs can get away with name-calling because it’s only us childish, “unserious” leftists that are expected to do it. Without naming names, there’s a new LRC blogger who refers to Obama as “Obamanable”…*every time*, even in a single post. I get it already.

Maybe I’m way off here, but it seems to me that partly because of the phenomenon I’m describing, some left-lib bloggers go the extra mile to make sure their posts are completely professional and of high quality. If I’m right, this could be a blessing in disguise. Who knows?

In any case, I don’t mean to be too critical of any right-lib. The LRC blog (as opposed to the main LRC site) always struck me as a sort of private barroom conversation among right-libs, not really meant for public consumption. It’s not as if their daily articles refer to the “Obamanation”. So this comment can be safely ignored down here.
