This is happening down the road about an hour from me.
Don’t get caught in the hype…The Mohawks aren’t against guns but against the government guns…after the Oka crisis where the Canadian Army was used to suppress them (we don’t have posse commistatis or what ever you call it), they just don’t trust the Canadian government to give them a fair shake. Kinda like those warrantless stops within 100 miles of the border you guys have to put up with.
They are afraid that glorified tax collectors with guns will be bad news for them, since its pretty nasty when they don’t have guns…
