An Eye for the Ladies

A trailer is out for the 2nd half of Doctor Who series 6. It contains serious spoilers, including one extremely disturbing image (disturbing to us Doctor Who fans, I mean; not to normal people), so watch at your peril:

There’s also a separate preview just for episode 11:

And here’s Karen Gillan telling us something about series 7 that pretty much everyone had become sure was false:

… yeah, I kind of figured she was going to be her, too. That’s at least two regenerations …

… honestly I’d not be halfway surprised if she’s also the Rani.

I don’t think they’d show us that image if the most obvious interpretation of it were correct.

And I’d be very surprised if Moffat brought back the Rani. With a few exceptions, he’s not that big on classic-series villains. He prefers to create his own.

P.S. – Is it just shadow, or is the Chess Viking wearing an eyepatch too? (And if he is, does that make him Odin?)

The Chess Viking is at 0:32.

At 0:37, Rory makes like Captain America circa March 1941.

At 0:41, some people think the guy in the transporter-beam-like-thing looks like David Tennant. (Well, I guess I agree with them that it looks like him. I’m just betting it’s not. Not till 2013.)

You can see some of the scenes slowed down here.

The Ganger Doctor who gets zapped by the astronaut (if that turns out to be the solution) might not be an autonomous Ganger like the Ganger Doctor we’ve seen. It might be a purely projected Ganger as Amy was. The real Doctor is sitting in a projector somewhere. And right after the screwdriver in the skeleton’s hand goes dark, the skeleton itself goes splooey.

    Maybe.
