In contemporary America Locke or, rather, an imagined heritage

    ‘Locke’, is a mascot of right-wing think-tanks.

A subtle jab at Mises and Cato, perhaps?

Profesor Long, I think you put the wrong link (unless an article of MP’D MOBILE has something to do with Lock).

It seems the link is correct but it has been superseded by the Amp’d Mobile article. The original article is from History Today, Vol 54, Oct 2004, but you have to pay to view it at http://www.historytoday.com. If you search on Google for

    “locke icon of liberty” site:britannica.com

and then click on the Cached link, you may be able to see it (for the time being).

Well, for me, Locke marks a “before” and an “after” locke in the history of liberalism. A great man, without doubt.

    Regards,
    Carlos
