I spent a long time ignoring the show. I bought it on DVD a couple of years ago, and I’ve never looked back. I’m a sucker for adolescent dramedy, for mystery, and for urban fantasy, so I’m a natural constituent for the show. But I think JW really does offer the viewer great dialogue, effectively realized and humanly developing characters and relationships, amusement, insight, and an intricately developed world. It’s easy to like the characters and care about their fates. Is the show as sparklingly witty and politically astute as Firefly? No, but it’s great fun–one of my all-time faves.
“Remarkably” doesn’t begin to describe the level of stupidity and fan-betrayal here.
What an awful show, anyway.
