My friend Aviezer Tucker, author of the (p)anarchist article “The Best States: Beyond the Territorial Fallacy,” has an amusing piece in the Prague Post this week titled “It’s a Small World.” I met Aviezer at the PCPE in Prague last March; Sophia, the daughter he mentions in the piece, essentially learned to walk on the day that he was showing me around the city.

When Alabama Gets the Bomb
I’ve heard most of Tom Lehrer’s songs multiple times, but until now I’d never seen footage of him performing them. Somehow his performance comes across as edgier – and less merely whimsical – when you can see it as well as hear it; his anger and contempt toward the cold-war political establishment are even more obvious.

Funny. But notice how Olbermann manages to make the narrator seem angry where the text suggests merely bewildered anxiety – like Lewis Black reading a Woody Allen routine.
