How genuinely libertarian will these cities be? I await events.

High Noon and Relative Dimension in Space
I wondered what Lindalee would make of A Town Called Mercy, which has somewhat more mature and complex themes than the previous two episodes. She gets the gist, but does seem less enthusiastic about this one. As always, SPOILER ALERT:
A puzzle about this episode: why is Amy suddenly so incompetent with guns, when last week she and Lestrade took out a whole pack of velociraptors with their rifles?
Death, With Coffee
Its time for more caffeinated philosophy at Auburns Gnus Room café/bookstore, as the AU Philosophy Club presents a roundtable discussion on Death this coming Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 5:00. If you plan to attend, arrive early to be sure of a seat (not so much because we are so popular as because the space is so small!). Ill be presenting the same argument for bargain basement immortality that I gave at our last roundtable on death back in 2002 (i.e., Ill make a case for the conclusion that nobody will ever die, but once you see what I mean youll be very disappointed even if youre convinced).
