Koch vs. Cato

The Battle for Cato. (CHT Jesse Walker.)

I’m quoted on page 4.

Also worth a read is this older piece from Jesse, reminding us of the Kochs’ leftier days.

Wait a sec, didn’t Crane backstab Rothbard and throw him out over being too libertarian? So in the height of irony Koch is trying to do the same to Crane?

At least that’s how Rothbard liked to see it.

I once saw someone who characterized the National Review’s purge of the Old Right as William Buckley trying to make consertatism Srs by getting rid of all the anti-semitic and racist cranks (it was an analogy for his purging his own website of anti-Islam writers and commenters, or something, to thus preserve Srsness), even though that purge had more to do with silencing or marginalizing libertarians and conservative doves than standing up against racism (seeing as NR continued to enthusiastically publish racist tripe).
