I already had it (so this was a lot less tense than my last promotion).
I don’t understand how that works. I thought only full professors had tenure.
No, it’s the transition from Assistant Prof to Associate Prof that (ordinarily) brings tenure.

Yeah, our tax dollars at work! But we must never forget that every tenure that is granted, every professorship gained, every promotion given is, in the final sense, a theft from those who warmonger and are not rearmed, those investment bankers who fail and are not bailed out.
