Anarcho-puzzlements

Anarchism/Minarchism e-bookI see that there’s an e-book available of our Anarchism/Minarchism anthology. It has a different cover (somewhat reminiscent of the hyperspace sequence in 2001) and everything.

But it costs exactly as much as the print edition. What’s up with that?

And, um, why does the blurb describe it as a book on Neoplatonic philosophy of mind?

The Streets of San Francisco

San FranciscoI’m off to San Francisco for a Liberty Fund conference on Chinese philosophy; back on Sunday. (My flight doesn’t actually leave until tomorrow morning, but it leaves from Atlanta too early for the shuttle to get me there, so I’m taking the shuttle this afternoon and staying overnight in Atlanta.)

We’re reading Kongfuzi, Laozi, Mozi, Shang Yang, and Yang Zhu – so actually skipping some of the most libertarian Chinese thinkers, such as Mengzi, Sima Qian, and Bao Jingyan.

It’ll be nice to see one of my favourite cities again; I’m going a day early in order to have some free time there. I’m not taking a laptop, so my internet access will probably be intermittent at best.

When I get back, teaching in the summer session awaits.
