The Blog Is Dead! Long Live the Blog!

Welcome to the new version of my blog!  Note that the new address is praxeology.net/blog and the new RSS feed is praxeology.net/blog/feed.Triumph of the Empire

After four years I’ve finally switched from doing everything manually to using actual blogging software.  I’m not crazy about how the new version looks, and I haven’t mastered all the technical details yet; but the two chief advantages will be: a) it will save me time, and b) it will allow readers to post comments.  (For now I’m letting comments be unmoderated – though judging from some of the crazy email I get, I can imagine that that might change.  But we’ll try it for now.)

Posts from the old version of my blog will still be accessible in the old archive.

Something seems not to be quite right with the way the css lays things out. Otherwise: nice move.

Yeah, I noticed that. Though exactly HOW it looks wrong varies depending on whether you view it with Explorer or Firefox. I suspect I may have screwed something up when I put in the left-libertarian blogosphere banner.

Looks pretty nice. I really like what you do, and I look forward to seeing more.

    Nice clean look!

You cannot moderate your comments and be a consistent libertarian! Anyone on the internet except people selling prozac have the absolute right under libertarianism to post whatever opinions they want to your blog at any time! Vive la anarchist revolution!

I like this version more…it allows comments 🙂

    Roderick,

We still need our regular quota of poorly photoshopped images. RATION, RATION!!

The comments are an excellent improvement.

I have to say, though, honestly, it does lack the old flair. The old website was so much more *you*. You know, culturally ancient, yet seemingly thrown-together. … Just kidding!

We are the WordPress Borg. You, too, have been assimilated.

LOL! Ditto Kevin and Brad’s sentiments . . . but let’s see what you do with this. *Welcome* to your new place, Roderick!

Good luck with your new blog format! You finally have a blogroll and my blog is on it, so there’s an upgrade right there.

One other good thing is that using standard blogging software will make it easier for blog-tracking sites like Technorati to work with the blog.

I see you’re keeping the Palpatine theme (in keeping with your role in drawing leftists over to the “dark side” of libertarianism).

Aside from a line that I’m seeing that runs down the sidebar, it looks ok to me. I like the new look.

Congrats on the new blog, and thanks for including my humble blog in your blogroll!

    Thanks all!

I was an interested reader of your last blog who has several of your writings listed under the insightful reads section of my own.

Boo to this Roderick. I miss the old look…

I think it looks great, Roderick! But even if you don’t like it, you can always design your own WordPress theme. I’m working on one now for my blog and would be happy to lend a hand. CSS *does* work once you figure it out, but figuring it out is like a year long bad trip.

  19. Administrator September 6, 2006 at 11:31 am #

Thanks, Jeremy. But as one of the main motives for switching to this format was to save me time from my increasingly hectic schedule, I don’t plan on tackling the mysteries of CSS right now.
