First Rand, now Tolkien again. They both keep writing new stuff, death notwithstanding. Tolkiens latest, based on the story of Kullervo from the Finnish epic Kalevala, is due out later this month.

I recently finished former Doctor Who showrunner Russell Davies Writers Tale, which is his account through a series of emails with Benjamin Cook of the making of the show.
I now get all the references I used not to get (most of which I didnt realise I wasnt getting) in this video:

Demon-Haunted Providence
I spent last weekend in Providence, at Browns Political Theory Project (right next to H. P. Lovecraft Memorial Square), at a workshop (my second one) on Matt Zwolinski and John Tomasis excellent forthcoming history of libertarianism.
My taxi driver was the nephew of Roderick Chisholm! He told me of Chisholms accordionist skills; I told him that his uncles name had become a verb.
