Renorthed

I’m back from Orange Beach (which incidentally was filled with small flying bugs that had smaller bugs attached backward to them by their butts). Good conference, good food, good conversation, and I’m APS President again. Plus it didn’t rain all weekend.

Two news items of interest: why Britain really wanted the Falklands, and the thin blue line that protects us from student t-shirts.  (Conical hat tip to LRC for both.)

I just realised that “it didn’t rain all weekend” is ambiguous. Without the italics it would naturally mean that no rain occurred during the weekend. With the italics it’s supposed to mean merely that there were some periods during the weekend that it didn’t rain; but it could still be interpreted the first way. However, I meant it in the second, less delightful way.

Even without the italics I wouldn’t have interpreted it to mean that there was no rain at all, only that it didn’t rain all weekend.

Oh and something I’ve been meaning to ask you, and I requested over at the Mises blog from Mr. Tucker: Would you happen to have a copy of your essay, “Abortion, Abandonment…”? I’ve been expecting it online for some time now, and it seems to never get put up.

    Thanks.

    Congrats.

Btw, when are you going to get “Why Justice Has Good Consequences” published?

    GAP,

You’d probably have a copy of that essay wouldn’t you?

    Nope. Sorry.

I’d be interested in reading “Abortion…” too. Now that I’m no longer living in Baton Rouge, I don’t have ready access to a college library. Could you upload a pdf copy, Roderick? Or email it to us?
