Word is that the following video is a promo for, but does not actually appear in, Ridley Scott’s upcoming Prometheus film, which takes place in the Alien universe but whose precise connection to the Alien franchise is not yet clear. The speaker, Peter Weyland, is presumably connected with the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, the main (human) antagonist in the Alien movies; Weyland and Yutani companies, not yet yoked by hyphens, figure in the (chronologically earlier) Alien vs. Predator movies.
"Austro" as in Rothbard and Wittgenstein, "Athenian" as in Aristotle and smashing-the-plutocracy.

I’m really looking forward to Prometheus. Long time fan of the Alien series. At the same time, I’m worried it will taint the original a bit by making it more than it was: a scary alien from a distant world.
From what I understand *possible spoilers* it explores the origin of that U shaped alien craft the Nostromo crew found on LV-426 in the original film (and in the same universe as this film?), and may explain the origin of the species of alien they brought on board. Rumor is the latter species may have been designed to ‘clean’ planets.
I’m also wondering if it may be a bit of a take off on 2001 *spoilers*, where the monolith was a tool whereby some alien species learned of humanity’s progress. When I read about Prometheus, I was reminded of William Burroughs’ claim that “language is a virus from outer space”, and began wondering if humanity, in Prometheus, has become a virus, a ‘too big for its own britches’ species which must be destroyed by the designed alien. The title makes me think something along those lines, along with a producer saying it was “the dark side of the moon”. The clip you posted furthers my suspicion that that may be the revelation in the film. Or I could be reading too much into it.
In any case, I can’t wait to see it. Along with Birdemic II: The Resurrection.
I spot errors. Check out the camera flashes in the crowd – during the close up and the pan shots of the stadium. Rather inconsistent, I would say. I read recently that Philosopher types tend to pick things apart . . .
