I have one problem with this: The Spy Who Loved Me is not an idiotic movie. It’s a very successful Bond flick. I thought the addition of the subplot about Amasova’s fiancé being killed by Bond was quite ingenious because it adds a tension to every scene in the third act. Barbara Bach isn’t actress enough to pull it off like it should be, but the idea is enough. The main flaw of the movie is that Stromberg doesn’t need to blow up the surface world to build a new one under the sea, so his motives are clearly a plot contrivance. He’s that crazy because the script needs him to be.

Moonraker is essentially a remake where the bad guy wants to build a society in space, not underwater. The differences are in the intelligence of the scripting and the intangibles.

Die Another Day is the first movie I’ve seen where nothing that happens from start to finish is even remotely plausible.

Every five or six Bond movies they go back and do one that’s not about gadgets or lunatic bad guys, eg. OHMSS, For Your Eyes Only, License to Kill, Casino Royale. DAD is at the extreme opposite end of that scale

Imagine The World Is Not Enough without Denise Richards’ character and the film dramatically improves.

She had a character? All I remember is her chest.
