    Will Sally Kellerman be involved?

I agree that Mitchell would be a good character to have, but Trelane might be good as well (they are both all-powerful superbeings after all). I’m assuming there won’t be a “Next Generation” series coming from JJ Abram’s movies, so this would be a good opportunity to explore the superbeing-juding-humanity theme that seems to be popular with the Star Trek writers.

If there is a new Star Wars trilogy that is unconnected with the Skywalker clan, I don’t see any reason to go watch it. To paraphrase Nozick, such a movie would not be a “closest continuer” of the Star Wars movies presented thus far, which all featured a Skywalker as the main character.

Anakin was not the main character in the new trilogy. There was no main character.

What do you mean there was no main character? I could maybe see II as being like that, but I and III basically revolved around Anakin Skywalker.

Phantom Menace revolved around a little boy that did not come onscreen until 45 minutes into the picture?

You must not have seen red letter media’s reviews of Ep 1 and 2.

But that was already done, in very good way, in DS9.

The attitude of the DS9 writers toward gods and religion was very different than what they displayed in the other series. Generally, powerful god-like beings were seen as a menace in the original series and as annoyances in TNG. In DS9 the attitude toward religion was much friendlier, with the main character Sisko embracing a role as a religious icon, questioning his faith, and exploring various religious issues in a way that I assume would make Gene Roddenberry gag. :)
