Free Minds! Free Markets! Free Parking!

Although this article on the Free State Project is partly (albeit not entirely) hostile, it still seems like fairly good publicity.

I thought it was amusing that the Globe considers it “bizarre” to protest intrusive government by publicly performing manicures without a license – but doesn’t seem to find it bizarre that there is such a legal offense as performing manicures without a license.

I don’t find that amusing, I find that rather depressing.

They seemed to imply that the issue with Sam is that he wants to film in the court lobby. It is not (just) that, though: His refusing to give his name is exercising his right to remain silent, and the judge’s claim that he will remain in prison “indefinitely” until he co-operates violates his right to a fair and speedy trial.

I wonder if Vermont and N.H. will eventually go to war, the former being settled by radical leftists and the latter being settled by gun-toting tax-protesting libertarians.

I’ve long thought the worst problem in the world is parking.

New Hampshire has a casus belli to invade Vermont. They had authority over most of the original land grants, after all, which I’m guessing was nullified during Vermont’s time as an independent republic.

It’s time to put things right and teach them Green Mountain Boys a lesson!

Those Vermonters love their gun freedom as much the run-of-the-mill NH folks do.

Well, when they arrest you they say you have the right to remain silent.
