SPOILER ALERT FOR SECRET WARRIORS #1:
Spider-man may be gushing over Obama, but Nick Fury sure isn’t. In last week’s Secret Warriors #1, Fury finds out that S.H.I.E.L.D., the anti-terrorist organisation he’s worked for since Strange Tales #135 in 1965, has all along been a front for the terrorist group HYDRA. So he breaks into the White House to confront Obama; and although he decides the President’s not a HYDRA agent, the meeting is not exactly a warm one:
Obama: You know, most people have the humility to respect the office – if not the man – when they enter this room … Have you forgotten that, Colonel Fury?
Fury: I’ve been in this room with Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy, Reagan, Johnson … Nixon … you know the list. That shit’s lost its luster.
I wonder if anyone’s planning a Nick Fury feature film? I just recently caught the Hulk movie on DVD, and I noticed fleeting shots of classified memos authored by a “Nick Fury” at “S.H.I.E.L.D.” in an early montage. And of course there was the character in “Iron Man” who revealed at the end that he was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. So I wonder…? (I’ve never seen the Fury TV movie with David Hasselhof.)
‘Twould sure be swell if they made a Fury flick exhibiting the kind of disrespect for gov’t authority you cite in “Secret Warriors.”
I guess you didn’t watch Iron Man all the way through to the end of the credits??!? It ends, after the credits, with a meeting between Nick Fury (played by Samuel Jackson) and Tony Stark discussing the “Avengers Initiative.” (Though rumor has it that although they’re planning a series of Avengers movies [Thor, Captain America, and Avengers], Jackson probably won’t play Fury in those because they couldn’t agree on salary.)

Yes. I have learned a most valuable lesson this day.
I’ve yet to understand the current mania some people have of bolting out of a movie once the credits start. Especially in light of several movies that provide ‘extras’ during the credits (outtake or fake outtakes or teaser stuff after the credits run).
Funniest was when I was at the 98 Godzilla movie, and a lot of people got up and started to leave after the main characters had blown up the baby Godzillas and were walking out of the staduim. They assumed the movie was over and the credits hadn’t even started. Well, the movies WASN’T over and went on for another 15-20 minutes or so.
Me, I sit thru most of the credits, and then I can leasurly stroll out, without having to stand in a mob of people trying to get out.
You can probably find the last scene online somewhere. That’s where I saw it.
I couldn’t find a good quality one, but this was better than most.
